In 1947, directly after the end of the second world war, Emil Suessmeir founded his greeting card company. Because of lack of materials, envelops were, at first, made out of old newspapers by the inhabitants of a nearby prison. The cards were printed on roller-presses and later hand-coloured with water colours. Emil Süssmeir, a skilled graphic artist, photographer and buisinessman only used his own art works. He never ran out of new ideas and so in time developed card collections of very high standards. Although he always aimed to be one of the best, but not necessarily the publisher with the largest turnover of the branch, his succeses forced him to build a large plant in 1969, which even had to be enlarged during later years.

Today the SÜ-publishing company is a flourishing, modern enterprise and employs a team of top artists and qualified, highly motivated craftsmen.

For almost 50 years, sophisticated SÜ-cards, no matter for which occasions, have been well known and in demand in many countries.
