How do postcards and greeting cards take shape?

Through idea... as a combination of publisher's initiative, enterprising activity,
artistic creativity and quality relating to craftsmanship.

Through design... in form of transparencies, in form of drafted sketches,
in form of calligraphy.

Through reproduction... designs are split up electronically (scanned) into the
basic colours of blue, yellow, red and black. These colour separations when printed together in the printing machine result an almost exact reproduction of the original.

Through printing... Offset-printing is the most common printing form today. However, for certain editions or/and sophisticated papers letterpress printing,
silk screening, steel engraving and other techniques are also used.

Through refinement... printed cards are further refined with, for example,
hot foil embossing, blind embossing, vircotype, die cut, glittering etc..
Greeting cards are protected by an outer covering of Polypropyethylene bags
or by boxes, both of which can be recycled..
